It seemed to me that there were a lot of mixed reviews about this product. I gave it a shot anyway. The gluten free thing was appealing to me. At first I thought it was humorous because one obviously doesn't eat shampoo, but I figured, as someone with celiacs, I might as well give it a shot. Maybe my skin reacts to gluten as well. I wasn't sure.
Previously, before using WEN, my scalp was dry and irritated, and then a day after washing (I wash every other day) my scalp would be really oily and and flaky. If I washed every day, my scalp would get even drier and flakier. Not attractive. I was also getting a minor rash on my neck shoulders and arms. Turns out the shampoo I was using wasn't gluten free. Strangely enough, my skin was reacting similarly to how my stomach acts when I ingest wheat. I hadn't made that connection until I switched over to the WEN product.
First of all, I had no problem with stinky hair. It completely cleans it. You really have to use it properly. Many times, people have trouble following directions and blame the product when it was their fault in the first place. Follow the directions. It's easy.
Anyway, The first thing I noticed was it's scent. It was a very herbal-sweet smell, and I liked it very much. It takes a bit longer to wash my hair, but it's okay. I also noticed how much stronger my hair became after only a week. My hair is also much shinier than before. My boyfriend, who is not especially concerned with hair or the like, actually noticed the quality increase of my hair and mentioned it to me, much to my surprise. My scalp hasn't itched a bit, and the rash on my skin is completely cleared up.
A wonderful product. When I run out, I will be getting more.
